I will keep my cool today.
The perils of everyday commute is creeping inside me…I am becoming suspicious of people seating beside me. The latest incident was when my bag was slashed by a man seated beside me…I was tired from work and wanting to seat comfortably inside the bus as I headed home. I noticed that this man (beside me) kept moving…I was seated next to the window and he was along the aisle. I noticed that he was a big man to have such a girlie bag (yup he was carrying a pink girlie bag!). As my suspicion rose further, I decided to pull my bag up and to my surprise he stood up and immediately went down. I discovered a big slash!!! I immediately checked my valuables (my wallet and cellphone), they are intact…well except for my bag…my favorite bag!!! I am lucky and blessed that I was not hurt…or the man decided not to poke me with the sharp thing that he used…
Today I saw four men board the bus I was in. They are called “mandurukot” (pickpockets) in our lingo…they strategically placed themselves in the middle of the aisle…the bus was so loaded that people are crowding the aisle standing…rushing to work…while these people are hoping that they arrive on time..these men are busy scanning for potential victims…alas a woman wearing a purple jacket unloaded in Buendia. Since the aisle was so crowded…the woman had difficulty moving…they purposely stood in the middle and not give way…the timing was perfect…one of the men dipped his hand in pocket of the jacket of the woman and they got her cellphone…
This is so sad…and so alarming…
